Cider flows at festival
The cider flowed in Powerstock village hall last Saturday night when more than 500 scrumpy enthusiasts descended on the Dorset village to quench their thirst.
A total of 25 small-scale cider makers, representing not only the West Country but also Scotland, Yorkshire and Oxfordshire, opened their taps in the name of charity at the annual Powerstock Cider Festival.
The event raised more than £3,000 for good causes including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Corton Denham cider maker John Lawrence won third prize with his medium cider.
"Powerstock Cider Festival seems to grow in popularity each year. It's a great way to promote the lesser known but equally delicious ciders. It's also brilliant fun," he said.
Entertainment was provided by The Skimmity Hitchers, who belted out such classics including Viva Lyme Regis.
